Serving education and physical therapy needs in West Africa

Our Mission, Our Work

Education is the key to a better life. Never has that been more evident than it is today in West Africa. So, that simple fact is what energizes the charitable nonprofit organization of E-quip Africa to collect (and refurbish) computers and school supplies for distribution to schools in West Africa that honors its traditions even as it builds and strengthens an economy clearly focused on the future.

A friendship between a former U.S. Peace Corps volunteer and a parish priest in Tarkwa, Ghana, West Africa, which began in the late 1980s has grown into E-Quip Africa — rooted in Willmar, Minnesota and now expanding to the metropolitan Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

With that expansion E-quip Africa can now service Physical Therapy departments in hospitals and clinics thanks to board president and Ghanaian National, Kenneth Wutoh. Kenneth (Kofi) holds a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (PT) so besides distributing equipment he also hosts seminars in training local therapists in current techniques found in the field.
